Front-end wobble on deceleration (steering-head bearings)
Owners report a violent handlebar wobble while slowing between roughly 30 and 50 mph, traced to the stock steering-head bearings; NHTSA logged dozens of complaints. On a safe, open road, decelerate through that range with a light grip and feel for oscillation. The accepted fix is tapered steering-head bearings — ask whether that conversion was done.

Rear drive-flange bearing wear
The rear drive-flange bearing is undersized and grinds itself apart, often discovered as metal debris at a tire change. Ask for the last tire-change receipt noting the flange bearing was inspected or replaced, and listen for growling from the rear hub on a slow ride. Caught early it is a cheap bearing; ignored, it chews up the flange and hub.
