ICCU failure — 12V drain, power loss, stranding

These E-GMP cars have a known Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) failure. When it fails the 12V battery stops charging, the car warns you, then loses drive power and can strand you; it may also refuse to charge. Covered by recall 24V-868 (Hyundai #272). Ask if the ICCU and its fuse were actually replaced, not just reflashed, and test-drive for warning lights plus a real charge session. Out of warranty a new ICCU can top $5,000.
