Jaguar I-PACE (2019–2021): what actually fails

The documented failure patterns on used Jaguar I-PACEs — the mileage window where each shows up, and what the repair typically costs at an independent shop. This is the same data NoLemon's Brief checks against every VIN.

2019–2021 TYPICAL 0k–150k MI UP TO $15,000

LG battery fire recall — charge-limit software

2019-2021 I-Paces use LG battery cells that can short internally from folded anode tabs and, rarely, catch fire; Jaguar told owners to park outside and pushed software that caps charging (often to 80-90%), which permanently cuts usable range. Confirm the recall software is current and ask whether the car was ever offered a buyback. Free under recall, but an unrepaired pack replacement can run many thousands.

BEFORE YOU BUY
Ask for repair records covering this item. If it hasn't been addressed and the car is in or near the mileage window, price the up to $15,000 repair into your offer — or make it the seller's problem.
