HV battery safety plug overheat/fire recall
About 2,200 early-build 2022 Niro EVs (made July-Dec 2021) can have a high-voltage battery safety plug that develops high resistance, overheats and melts, risking loss of drive power or fire (Kia SC314, NHTSA 24V-358). The free fix replaces the plug. Check the door-jamb build date and run the VIN for open recalls, and ask for proof the plug was replaced. It's a cheap part but a real fire and stall risk, so confirm the recall is closed before you buy.
Ask for repair records covering this item. If it hasn't been addressed and the car is in or near the mileage window, price the up to $600 repair into your offer — or make it the seller's problem.
