Slingshot Slingshot (2015–2019): what actually fails
The documented failure patterns on used Slingshot Slingshots — the mileage window where each shows up,
and what the repair typically costs at an independent shop. This is the same data NoLemon's Brief checks
against every VIN.
The angle drive — the small bevel gearbox that turns the transmission output 90 degrees to the drive belt — leaks its fluid and fails; early units were bad enough that Polaris redesigned the part. Look for gear-oil weep around the unit ahead of the belt and listen for a clunk when rolling on and off the throttle. Ask for proof of the updated angle drive or a recent fluid service.
BEFORE YOU BUY Ask for repair records covering this item. If it hasn't been addressed and the
car is in or near the mileage window, price the $300–$1,500 repair into your offer — or make it the seller's problem.

Battery fuse-holder melt / total electrical shutdown
Excessive current can melt the main battery fuse holder, killing lights, gauges, and ABS while driving; Polaris recalled 2015-2019 units for it (NHTSA 19V750000). Have a Polaris dealer run the VIN — this and several other early Slingshot recalls (steering, swingarm, fuel line, seat belts) are fixed free. Flickering electronics on a test drive are a red flag.
