Terms of Service
EFFECTIVE DATE: TO BE SET AT LAUNCH · LAST DRAFTED JULY 2026
1. What NoLemon is — and is not
NoLemon provides informational reports ("Briefs") and free vehicle checks compiled from government and commercial data sources. NoLemon is informational only. A Brief is not an inspection, not a warranty, and not a guarantee of any vehicle's condition, history, mileage, value, or fitness. Data sources may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong; vehicles can have undisclosed damage no database records. Always inspect a vehicle independently and consider a professional pre-purchase inspection before buying.
Every Brief carries this disclaimer in its footer: "NoLemon Briefs are informational only and not a guarantee of vehicle condition, history, or value. Data is drawn from official and commercial sources which may be incomplete; verify independently and consider a professional pre-purchase inspection." That disclaimer is part of these terms. The decision to buy, pass on, or price a vehicle is yours alone; we accept no liability for purchase decisions made with — or without — a Brief.
2. No professional advice
Nothing in a Brief, calculator, or article is financial, legal, or mechanical advice. Price figures, Trust Scores, negotiation numbers and affordability bands are estimates produced by fixed formulas over third-party data.
3. Accounts
Sign-in is by email link. You're responsible for access to your email. We may suspend accounts engaged in abuse, fraud, scraping, or resale of report data. You may delete your account at any time in the app; purchase records are retained (anonymized) for accounting.
4. Purchases, credits, refunds
Report credits are consumable purchases processed by our merchant of record (Stripe); they process payment on their terms. Credits never expire. If a paid report returns substantially no data, we automatically return the credit. For anything else, contact [email protected] — our refund posture is deliberately generous.
5. Acceptable use
- No scraping, bulk querying, reselling, or redistributing report contents as a dataset.
- No use to harass, stalk, or identify individuals; VINs relate to vehicles, not people.
- No circumvention of rate limits or security controls.
6. For-sale listings & seller shares
Sellers can list a vehicle for sale on NoLemon and share its Brief with buyers. NoLemon is not a party to any vehicle sale. Listings are seller-provided content: we do not verify asking prices, vehicle condition, or the identity of any seller. Links from a listing to external sites (dealer pages, marketplaces) are third-party content we don't control.
- A report reflects our data sources at the moment it was generated. A seller-shared report may predate recent damage — verify the VIN in person and run your own up-to-date report before buying.
- Sellers represent that they own, or are authorized to sell, the listed vehicle.
- Listings auto-expire after 30 days unless the seller renews them.
- We may remove any listing at our discretion.
7. Abuse & takedowns
See something fraudulent or misleading — a fake listing, a stale share being passed off as current, a scam? Email [email protected] and we'll look at it. We may revoke share links or remove listings that are fraudulent or misleading.
8. Affiliate links
Some pages contain affiliate links (marked with a disclosure). We may earn a commission when you use them. They never change our data, scores, or math.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NoLemon's total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for the condition of any vehicle you buy or decline to buy.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in-product. Continued use after changes is acceptance.
